Carpathian National University named after Vasyl Stefanyk has ranked 7th in the academic ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions “Top-200 Ukraine 2026,” climbing one position compared to last year.
This result reflects the university’s steady strengthening of its position among Ukraine’s leading higher education institutions and confirms the effectiveness of its systematic work in education, research, international activity, innovation, sustainable development and community engagement.
The Top-200 Ukraine ranking is compiled annually by the International Projects Centre “Euroosvita” in line with the recommendations of the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, an international expert community. The ranking’s methodology is based on a comprehensive assessment of university performance and takes into account both international and national indicators.
In 2026, the assessment was carried out using ten indicators, including universities’ representation in the international rankings Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Scopus and SCImago Institutions Rankings, as well as the effectiveness of participation in research project competitions, the results of NAQA accreditation reviews, the number of patents obtained, and admissions campaign indicators.
The improvement in Carpathian National University’s ranking position is the result of the joint work of the university community — academic staff, researchers, students, administrative units and partners. The university continues to develop its research infrastructure, support international cooperation, strengthen the quality of its educational programmes, open science, project activity and sustainable development practices.
Reaching the top ten of the Top-200 Ukraine 2026 ranking and continuing to rise further is an important confirmation of Carpathian National University’s strategic course toward becoming a modern, open, research-driven and competitive university of European standing.
